Celebrating Valentines Day From Home

A few ideas + our favorite pizza recipe!

12 February 2021 -

Valentine’s Day in 2021 is a little bit different from years past, but that doesn’t stop us from wanting to take the time to surround ourselves with love however we can.

Whether you’re connecting with a loved one virtually, spending time with your family, or indulging in a night of self-care, celebrating from home doesn’t have to be mundane.

Here are a few ideas for celebrating Valentine’s Day from the comfort of your own home this year:

Make your own floral arrangement

Creating your own floral arrangement can be as simple as going to your local florist or Trader Joes to find some stems that speak to you. To elevate it even more, we like to start with the largest pieces first when arranging them in a vase and layer in mixed greenery for texture and color.

Cozy up and watch your favorite show

Celebrating anything with your favorite movie or T.V. show is pretty fool-proof. If you haven’t watched our show Dream Home Makeover on Netflix yet, we think it’s even better than a chick-flick (even though we’re biased).

Cook from home

Cooking at home is one of our favorite ways to celebrate anything, and this year, that has rung more true than ever. Whether you’re taking a virtual cooking class with your partner, making a simple dish together, or ordering, we’re all for dining in.

Watch the video below to see how we’re making our favorite pizza this year:

Make your favorite treat

There’s no better time to treat yourself than on Valentine’s Day. These cookies are a favorite around here and using plain Valentine M&Ms and semi-sweet mini chips takes them to another level.

This chocolate banana bread is a favorite from Two Peas & Their Pod, and they also share a gluten-free/vegan option!

We also love this tender and flavorful vanilla cake from Cake by Courtney that layers with a light and fluffy buttercream.

Refresh your home for spring

Who said showing your home some love wasn’t a good way to celebrate Valentine’s Day? We don’t know about you, but re-styling a few things to refresh our spaces makes for a pretty good night.
