1. Secure a floral frog to the base of your bowl with sticky floral tack and press down firmly. Cut a rectangular piece of chicken wire about twice the size of your vessel and bend into a dome shape to fit snuggly inside the bowl. Tape the chicken wire to the bowl.

2. Prepare your flowers by clipping the ends of your stems at a 45 degree angle. Remove any excess foliage or buds that will fall below the water line to avoid bacteria growth on the stems.

3. To begin arranging, I usually start with the woodiest element to build shape and structure, and fill in the base of the arrangement with larger grounding blooms. In this case, I used hellebore and spray roses. Layer your blooms and cut the stems at different lengths to mimic how they would naturally grow. I love to keep like elements grouped together within the vessel.

4. To finish the arrangement, I place the more delicate blooms floating above the heavier elements. I used sweet pea and nerine lilies to add that femininity to this arrangement; they both bring a visual lightness.

5. Set the mood with votive candles. I love the ribbed detail and gold accents on these textured glass vases. They compliment the bowl and tablecloth perfectly. Happy Valentine’s Day!
