The Sunday 7: A Few More Updates

Our home projects and my favorite cookie recipe!

No. 1. Progress at Our House

We’re starting to see the finish line with the construction at our house. After living here for a few years, we’ve given ourselves time to mull over additional architectural details throughout our main spaces and I love how it’s adding character while maintaining its original essence. The brick and plaster on the fireplace are nearly done and I’m just over here swooning.

No. 2. Cookie Recipe

I made this slightly healthier version of peanut butter chocolate chip cookies the other weekend and they were such a hit that now baking them has become a sort of weekend ritual. Seriously, they are sooo delicious.

No. 4. My Love of Classics

There are certain design elements I’ll never tire of, like a great linen couch or a marble countertop. The same can be said of staples I love to keep in my closet, like a classic stripe tee with a twist (like shoulder pads)! Paired with a red lip and loafers I can count on a look like this to never go out of style and I love that it can carry me through all seasons!

No. 5. A Flawless Application

I ordered this new makeup brush to try, and I have to say it has exceeded my expectations. For the days I want a little fuller coverage I am pairing my favorite foundation with this brush for a flawless finish. The soft, dense bristles help to both smooth and set. That said, I always have these inexpensive ones on hand for daily use.

No. 6. Designing Spaces for Growing Kids

With my own kids growing at a RAPID rate, I’m always looking at how we approach kids’ spaces in a way that keeps them relevant but adaptable to their tiny inhabitants. This past week we shared some of my favorite tips for these rooms and you can read them all here!

No. 7. Our Favorite Design Hotels

One of my favorite elements of any trip is the design of region – whether architectural elements throughout a city or the thoughtful details of a boutique hotel. This week we’re sharing some of our favorite hotels in the Mountain West, so you can be on the lookout for that!
