How to Style for the Winter Season

Whether you’re getting ready for guests or making your home a little cozier for the colder temps, you want to make your home winter friendly with a few styling tips.
First, think about the color palette. We typically say goodbye to bright, summer colors and trade them in for richer colors.
ADD TEXTURE + LAYERS
We’ll add in thicker texture with different throws and textiles. We love using thick wool throws because they are full of texture, and readily available to grab and keep you warm.
Wooden beads add in a playful texture and a taste of the outdoors at once. We love layering them on top of trays and coffee table books to create layers and dimension. Leaving your favorite book open is a fun way to show it off.
EXTRA STORAGE
Not only do we love the aesthetic of baskets, but they keep everything looking clean and uncluttered. They’re great in a living space or by the door to hold any excess objects.
Bring the outdoors in
Greenery and freshly chopped wood really bring the outdoors in during the colder months.
It’s a new season, so it’s the perfect time to dust your shelves and refresh your styling. Add in new accessories to mix in with the old. We incorporate all our tips into our shelf styling. We get texture from styling antique planters and vases, golden hues, and woven details. Using greenery and outdoor photography, it adds a natural touch.
Add a seasonal scent
Filling your spaces with a scent you love is one of the easiest ways to make it feel like a home. Is there anything more cozy than having your favorite candle burning? We also love to keep a lotion and soap duo handy to stay moisturized in the cold, drying months.
