Fruit and mocktails are meant to be, and pears are no exception. In fact, we’d venture to say they’re underrated in the world of drinks. Naturally sweet with a honeylike taste, they lend themselves well to a sparkling glass around the dinner table. Presented in a clear glass, this Pear Mocktail recipe is frothy and golden—a sophisticated sidekick to your undoubtedly well-thought-out tablescape.
Keeping pace with the elegance of its presentation, this Pear Mocktail is sweet, but not overpoweringly so. A ripe pear is nearly enough on its own, but a touch of maple adds subtle notes of caramel that warm the drink through. This recipe calls for bartlett pears, but any tender pear will do (d’anjous, red pears, you name it). Our only stipulation is that you use the freshest pear you can find, and don’t negotiate on 100% real maple syrup. A sage-green sprig of rosemary finishes the color palette, but also rounds out the flavor with an aromatic, herby finale.
