McGee Home: Mudroom Process

The inspiration and process behind our mudroom!

McGee Home Mudroom Inspiration

We’ve always had a love for mudrooms at our studio, and designing our very own from start to finish has been a dream! Ever since moving to Utah, we’ve had a need for a space fit for trekking in boots covered with snow, storing hats and gloves, and hanging our coats to dry. Deep, heavy winters have finally met their match!

When gathering inspiration for this space, we focused on contrasting elements in our kitchen to create depth and added interest. Diverging from the light and bright details in our kitchen, we went with dark cabinets and countertops by Killowen Construction, creating a moody yet still airy feeling. Complete with limestone floors in a herringbone pattern by Avente Tile, an industrial style faucet from Kohler, classic white shiplap by Metrie, and a cute dutch door, the result was even better than I imagined!

Bedrosians made all of our slab dreams a reality!

We went black on the exterior and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out!

We couldn’t be more grateful for those following along and supporting us on the McGee home journey! We’re so excited to show you the full reveal soon. In the meantime, catch up with more behind the scenes looks into our exterior, kitchen, and entry and great room!
