How We Take On Holiday Entertaining

Playing host doesn’t have to be so stressful!

07 November 2018 -

Tis the season to entertain! This can be a joy, and a stress. Here are our tips for holiday entertaining.

We like to take some of the pressure of as host by approaching formal dinner parties and events casually. We’ll use a linen table runner that is beautiful, but relaxed. This year we used the Chesapeake Table Runner. It has traditional charm, with a simple color palette and a vintage feel. For a touch of elegance we’ll use antique brass candlesticks. A rustic dipped wicker bottle contrasts with the brass.

We love to incorporate black details into almost any space, and we did that with the our Plantain Lantern and Madison Chairs. Floral arrangements are always great, but pretty greenery makes a beautiful statement. Our gray dipped vase provides beautiful natural undertones. We had to include a charcuterie board, but mixed it up by putting it on our industrial tier stand instead. It also makes the treats more accessible to all around the table.

Treat guests with ribbon and an ornament on the napkin as a thoughtful gift.

Look #2

This look is a but more formal, but full of natural elements. We contrasted the gorgeous blooms with a clay vase, and made a statement by laying the runner vertically through the center of the table.

Candlesticks are always a must for a dinner party and we used our Wooden Candlesticks here. They tie in with the round rattan trays we hung on the wall.

We tied ribbon on the utensils as a special detail, and used a pine stem under the other plates. Creating special moments with details like this are thoughtful and organic.

Our Contemporary Cookbook Holder with a beautiful cookbook in it feels more like an art installation than a useful kitchen tool, but it happens to be very convenient! Prop a recipe open and have it accessible while cooking, or give a beautiful home to the book when it’s closed.
