Evergreen Kitchen Remodel Reveal

See the final reveal of our Evergreen Kitchen Remodel!

There is nothing more refreshing than a beautiful before and after. This remodel was a complete transformation — from removing the soffit, tiled counters,  rearranging the islands, and more. We completely gutted and gave this kitchen a huge facelift. From new appliances to new plumbing from Kohler, we loved how this project turned out!

The color palette tends to be the element we take on first, and our client wanted something that was light and airy without going the all-white route. We went with a soft neutral palette of warm grays and light marble countertops with a white backsplash. These kept the kitchen warm and bright while also feeling different and unique. We chose a polished nickel faucet and a pot filler with cool lever handles and a beautiful farmhouse sink. Brass hardware and natural open shelves add warmth and detail.

The client wanted a backsplash that you don't see every day in white. We went with tile that has beveled details to create unique dimension. To keep the kitchen high-end, we took the cabinets all the way to the ceiling, included leaded glass detail in cabinetry, included a pot filler, a built-in fridge, and changed the island to be rectangular. But the best part might be the pendant lights! We wanted to a create focal point so we put two symmetrical cabinets next to the hood and added open shelves to the corner for balance. The shelves wrap around so you can enjoy them from every angle.
The Kensington runner was a no-brainer with it's golden hues and minimal pattern.
Ideally, we fill a planter by the sink with fresh flowers but it also works as a place to hold scrubber. Using a harvest basket is a great way to break up the other kitchen items and bring some character and charm to the shelves. We added a compote square dish for subtle glam and a darling creamer for a little bit of pattern.
We weren't sure if we should choose to include seating or create more storage with the kitchen island but ultimately chose storage because there's seating in this adjacent dining room. The dining table is rich and classic, and pairs so beautifully with the Darlana Linear Pendant.

  1. Love the kitchen! Also love the top you’re wearing in the email I got – it’s a brown with navy and ruffle? Where did you get it please?

  2. Love this kitchen! Is there a specific beveled subway tile that you used or is it the grout spacing that make it look so different?
    Thank you!

  3. Curious about the floating shelves. Where are they from or where is something similar available? I haven’t been able to find the L-shape.

  4. Where is the refrigerator now? Love the remodel but it’s hard to see how functional it is with the remodel photos

  5. What does the wall opposite the sink/window look like? I’d love to see some shots of that! We are renovating and have a similar kitchen setup! Thanks!

  6. I was wondering if you can tell me what sheen you use for painting the ceiling? I notice there’s a bit of reflection, so maybe eggshell?

  7. Hi there! I love the cabinets-to-the-ceiling look! I have an angled ceiling in my kitchen :(. Shea, do you have any thoughts you could share on how to deal with an angled ceiling in trying to take the cabinets to the top? Thanks!

  8. You just changed my mind on what pendants to put over my kitchen island. These are lovely. I’m wondering if these are the small pendants or large? I am figuring they are small because the island seems on the small side. Thanks for such beautiful work.

  9. Wondering what the dimensions of this kitchen are? Mine is layed out very similarly but currently I have a peninsula at the end of the "sink counter." I’m trying to figure whether I could fit an island like this comfortably!

    1. Additionally, what is the distance between the sink counter and island in the new kitchen? It seems roomy for a small-ish kitchen!

  10. Such a huge transformation!Now so fresh and beautiful!New beginnings!Jo-Anne Banks-Pyrke Perth, Western Australia.?xx

  11. This kitchen looks fantastic! I love the mix of the exposed shelves with the cabinetry. Especially in a corner! Where do you source your exposed shelves? I am looking for a resource for this. Thanks.

  12. Beautiful. It would be neat if you would do a hardware selection tips video. We want to do a little update to our kitchen with hardware but not exactly sure when is best to use knobs or pulls (drawers is one example).

  13. Nice finished look. Would have loved a few different views of the wall with fridge and less of the same one corner of sink etc. Overall, its beautiful.

  14. Could you tell me the dimensions of this kitchen? It's arranged very similarly to my kitchen and I want to add an island. How large is the island? Beautiful job! Thank you! says:

  15. Gorgeous! Love the color palette!
Has anyone found out where the knobs and pulss are from? I would love to incorporate these into my current kitchen reno.

  16. Beautiful kitchen. I need an opinion. We have dark granite countertops-black and brown speckled. Do you think it would look good to do your color kitchen cabinets with dark pulls instead of the gold? White and gold looks so good so I’m trying to figure out how to incorporate your cabinet color to ours with our countertops. Please and thank you!!!
