We went from one comp to another this month and wrapped up the week cheering Ivy on at her dance competition! Love watching these girls of mine do their thing.

No. 4. Behind the Scenes

I shared a few moments at the spec home during our catalogue shoot there last week, but this week we started filming a series sharing more of the details on the project – it has been a rewarding and tiring process to design and build a spec home, but the end result has been absolutely worth it!

My love of a good blazer or cardigan runs deep. I can throw one on over something as simple as a t-shirt and jeans and instantly feel pulled together. Here are some of my current closet heroes –

No. 6. Design Love Language

Our fourth design love language: a calming palette. Maybe it’s a minimal space with white walls and white or grey furnishings, or something more tonal with shades of brown, cream, or blue, but a calming color palette is one of the approaches I love to take with interior design. Cool colors, or colors of nature—browns, blues, greens—are commonly considered to be calming for obvious reasons, and I love that you can utilize them in “loud” ways but still end up with a room that elicits feelings of peace and serenity.
