The McGee Home: Our Laundry Room

A space that represents everything we love about design

08 July 2020 -

Today, we are taking you through The McGee Home Laundry Room!

We’re so grateful to our sponsors at Kohler Co.Metrie, and Killowen Construction, for helping us make this space come to life!

While we still have some rooms to work on, this will be one of our last McGee Home tours for now! You can watch the virtual tour and webisode below, and keep scrolling shop the pieces and get all the details!

The materials:

We love carrying repeating elements throughout a home to create a cohesive feeling, and this room has a little bit of all of The McGee Home’s greatest hits: muted tones, wood beams, and shiplap on the walls and ceiling!

The McGee Home: Our Laundry Room

We painted the majority of the walls in Swiss Coffee by Benjamin Moore at 75% strength, and in this space, we paired it with a soft grey color on our cabinetry called Natural Cream, also by Benjamin Moore.

On the countertops, we chose Carrara Marble, a big stainless steel tub Kohler sink, and a pretty high-arch Kohler faucet.

On our floors, we did a rustic, grey limestone with a little bit wider grout to really show off the beautiful tumbled edges.

One of our favorite elements in this space is the built-in cubbies for our rolling hampers. They are perfect for keeping the kid’s clothes organized, and an example of bringing form and function together beautifully.

The details

To balance out our closed cabinetry, we did some open shelves to hold pretty towels, baskets, and a few more of our favorite functional items!

The lighting

We went with something new here and used our Linear Lantern from McGee & Co. in weathered zinc, and we love how it brings a traditional feeling to the room.

Overhead, we chose our industrial, Henry Hanging Light with an antiqued metal cage that tied everything together perfectly!

Stay tuned for more McGee Home tours in the future, and for now, check out the spaces we’ve shared so far below!
