Last week, we shared the video tour, and today, we're sharing more photos and details from our favorite spot in our home: our backyard!
It's been so much fun to dabble in outdoor design as we experiment with our landscaping. Although we're still adding layers to this space, we've loved spending time here as a family since moving in.

The Lounge Space
Our outdoor dining and lounge spaces have been a sanctuary for us over the past few months. We wanted them to feel like a continuation of our dining and living space inside, and we love how this concrete diamond paver creates a more formal feeling around our seating area.
Complete with an indoor-outdoor rug, new furniture pieces from McGee & Co's outdoor collection, and three uniform lanterns, it's the perfect setting for a barbecue or mid-day work break.

The plants:
-
Limelight hydrangeas
-
Boxwoods
-
Lavender
-
Jasmine on trellis
-
Kwanzan Cherry Trees with English Laurel Between (along the back of the fence)

We used leftover brick from our exterior for our built-in fireplace and grill area, and we love how it adds some extra texture to the look.

The Garden
We've always wanted to have a garden, and we absolutely love our little collection of herbs, vegetables, and flowers. It's been so much fun for the entire family to care for the plants together, and it's become our happy place.

The Playhouse
We worked with Killowen Construction to create this playhouse for the girls (and Syd) from leftover materials from the exterior of our home. They spend all day out here in the sandbox and mini playroom on the top level, and we couldn't be happier with how it turned out!

The Garden Shed
After a few months of living in our home, we realized we were missing a place to put all of our garden tools. We love the addition of this little shed and the function it brings. But no, it's not a she-shed!

These massive trees were on our property before we started building, and although they needed some cleaning up, we love how much shade they bring. We decided to hang a hammock between two of them, and it's one of our favorite places to play and relax.

The Front Yard

Love the simple black trellis attached to the house (garage wall?) – where is that sourced from and how did you attach it to the siding?
I would love to see more about your pool! We are going to put one in next Spring. I’m interested in plaster color, tile, coping, etc! Your property is beautiful!
That’s so exciting, Cindy! We’ll be sharing more about the pool soon!
It’s so lovely and it’s great that you have different spaces for anything you might want to do out there. I’m a bit worried about those Limelight hydrangeas, which are going to cover your beautiful windows in no time (they get at least 8 feet tall).
Thank you Erin, yes, it will be interesting to see how they grow!
Limelights can easily be kept below 4′ tall with pruning. 🙂
Beautiful. The mountain landscape in the background is so nice and perfectly complements the color scheme. Would love to see more of it.
Thank you so much, Michelle! Agreed, we are so lucky to live right next to those beautiful mountains!
Would you share the source for your trellis? I’ve been searching for something similar. Thank you!!
Hi Anne!
Ours is currently sold out, but you can find a similar one here: https://www.interiorhomescapes.com/Folding-Trellis-Wall-Mounted_p_26024.html 🙂
Hi!
I love the umbrella! We’re looking for one for our deck. Would you mind sharing where you got it?
Thank you!
Loving all you’ve done with the backyard so far – can’t wait to see your pool setup! Do you mind sharing the dimensions you chose for your garden bed planters and shed? Thank you!
Hi! I have a question about the wood you used for your deck. What type of wood is it, and did you stain or seal it? If so can you please share that information? I love everything you guys touch! Turns to gold 😍
Thanks,
Gina
