Sunday 7: Getting in the Holiday Spirit
Kicking it into high gear as we get ready for Christmas!
05 December 2021 -
No. 1. The holiday hustle and bustle
Thanksgiving 2021 is under our belts (quite literally) and we’ve hit the ground running with all the activities and events to close out the year! Ivy had a dance recital this weekend and my heart melts every time I see her on stage. I love being a dance mom!

No. 3. Our Christmas-ready entry
We’ve been putting up our Christmas decorations since the hours before our pie night when I was scrambling to get the house ready. I love how our entry turned out! The deep rusty red ribbon and dried orange garland paired perfectly with our pewter bells, Solange mirror, and brass taper candle holders. I’m normally a sunshine lover, but during the holiday season I love when the sun sets and all the Christmas lights twinkle in our home.
No. 4. A festive touch and a favorite outfit
Okay, let’s be honest – the entry snowballed into the living room, the stairs, the basement, the girls’ bedrooms, and no space in our home is going without a touch of Christmas décor. Ever since I bought this vintage cabinet for my office, I just knew it needed to have a wreath hanging from its doors and now is the moment! I got asked a lot of questions about this skirt and I LOVE it – so easy to throw on and go but feel pulled together, especially when I pair it with a cozy knit.

No. 5. Dry weather skincare must-haves
As the weather gets colder and drier, I cannot be without my skincare heavy–hitters. I’ve been using the Aria Ionic Facial Steamer and then following that up with the Image Skincare Mask and I like to think of it as my own personal spa day. This face mist is magic – I love that I can use it before I layer on other products in the morning but it really blows me away when I use it throughout the day to refresh and rehydrate my face. My makeup doesn’t budge and it helps calm all the redness and just re–plumps everything. Can I say enough good things about it!?
No. 6. Gift wrapping!
In case you missed it, we shared our favorite gift wrap and supplies! I love to incorporate the color palette I’ve used throughout the home for holiday décor into my present wrapping, too. I’m a sucker for the moody and organic feel and firmly believe there’s no such thing as too much silk ribbon.

In the spirit of gifting, I’m putting together gifts for all our neighbors. It’s a tradition Syd and I have had since we were newlyweds and I love getting to know the people we live by a little bit better and letting them know we’re grateful for them. McGee & Co has made it so easy this year with these gorgeously curated gift boxes. The perfect way to spread that holiday cheer!
