At long last—
—we’re officially opening the doors to our first-ever spec home, fully designed by Shea and the design team at Studio McGee. While we will be digging a lot deeper into this stunning new build outside Park City, Utah—seven (!) full webisodes coming your way in the following weeks—now through May, we’re starting today with a full intro to the project.
In our intro webisode below watch as Shea and Syd take us along on a typical site visit while they make some finishing decisions on the direction of the home. We start with the home’s exterior, a combination of dark-stained board and batten, light, organic stone, and reclaimed wood headers. Walking into the entryway, visitors will immediately see that the same stone from the exterior of the home is carried indoors, rising to the vaulted ceiling as a soaring fireplace façade. Centered with the fireplace in the open-concept space will be a large kitchen island, “I wanted that nice alignment,” explains Shea.
The configuration of the kitchen is still a work in progress, as Shea finalizes the storage layout and the sink configuration. “Look how pretty these doors are,” Shea notes as we move into the home’s primary suite. Tongue and groove wood will accent the walls and ceiling of the home’s main bedroom, with limestone floors in the primary bath. A reeded border in the shower is a design detail first for Shea, and “I’m really excited about it,” exclaims Shea.
“The mudroom is one of my favorite rooms in the house,” Shea notes while going back and forth on the shade of green of which will go on the walls to compliment the Calcutta marble and limestone checkerboard floors.
“Stay tuned,” Shea says, “because we have all the aesthetic stuff is starting to happen. My dream is to design a beautiful home that someone wants to make their own,” she adds. To reach out for more details on the purchase of the spec home, please email [email protected].
