The holidays are the season of gathering with those you love—

-and I love welcoming our friends and family into our home to celebrate. This year, I am looking forward to an approachable but decadent setting –think layered atmospheric lighting and a spread full of heirloom recipes. When planning the tablescape, I like to start by defining a color palette, deciding on the feeling I want to evoke, and then working out from there. The transition from fall to winter is the perfect time to incorporate a moodier scheme—I love deep reds paired with neutral tones and textures, as seen in the holiday spread below. This floral-print tablecloth and moss green linen napkins by McGee & Co. play off the colors in the dahlias and berries in this stunning centerpiece designed by Ashley Beyer of Tinge. Once I’ve established a palette, it’s easy to build from there, layering in dinnerware and glassware, then arranging décor items, like tea lights and candlesticks. The ones used in the photos below are the Adele Dinner Plate and the Pietra Wine Glasses from McGee & Co. Finish setting the mood with a festive playlist and enjoy the time with the ones you love.
