Shea’s Favorite Pieces from The McGee & Co. Summer Catalogue

Step inside of the latest McGee & Co. catalogue

12 April 2022 -

Sunnier days are approaching…

and with the launch of the latest McGee & Co. Summer Catalogue, we can’t help but dream about sun-soaked days ahead.  Our team has learned so much about designing products we love and use in our homes every day since the beginning of McGee & Co. years ago. Though it’s hard to choose favorites, there are a few things I’ve been dreaming up for years that I’m especially excited about this season.

From the perfect brownie-batter bowl inspired by the look of my favorite vintage find to new furniture additions inspired by the function of the ones our family loves most, I can’t wait to share the pieces we’ve been working on featured in this year’s issue.

If you’ve already received your copy of the catalogue in the mail, check out the interactive digital version here, and keep scrolling here to see my favorite pieces that fill its pages.

The Byron Sofa

I love the shape and feel of The Byron Sofa. It feels really fresh, and the shape is unique to us — the curved back, sloped ed arm, and deep, tight-pulled seat are upholstered in a dreamy powder-blue velvet that could read as a neutral in many spaces. I had this color in mind from the very beginning of designing this collection, and I love how it feels dressy but fun.

The Florence Floor Lamp

The scale of this floor lamp is perfect for styling alone or layering with a side table, and the wood and brass base adds just the right amount of interest.

The Giselle Round Dining Table

Our family has loved our oval Giselle Round Dining Table for the years we’ve had it in The McGee Home, and we wanted to design an extension of the look with a round shape that fits in smaller spaces but still has that interesting trestle base.

The Subdued Botanicals Artwork

We added these new botanical prints to McGee & Co., and I love the delicate feeling the florals bring contrasted with the rich brown tone of the frame.

The Adele Plates

Our new Adele dinner and salad plates have this really pretty pressed detail, and I love how they add an added layer of dimension to any tablescape. For the catalogue shoot, we styled them with our new bordered linen napkins with a timeless double border that contrasts beautifully with the ceramic texture of the plates.

The Burnham Cabinet

The design of the Burnham Cabinet was inspired by architectural details that we love in homes. I love this arched shape, and the cut-out handle detail (something we love doing in our cabinetry designs). The leg detail is really cool because it looks like a basic square from the front, but when you see it from the side, you can see that it has a rail that continues from front to back.

We wanted to make sure the height would work in a lot of different spaces, and we made sure to set back the shelves a little bit, so you got dimension in the cabinet, and it doesn’t feel too flat — making it the perfect size to style your favorite bowls and decor pieces.

The Everett Mixing Bowl

One of my favorite vintage pieces is this old-striped bowl that I use to make cookies and brownies, but because of its height, it splashes a lot. I wanted to re-create its look and feel in a more functional design, so we designed this bowl with my vintage one in reference. We raised the edge and then added this little spout so that if you use it for brownie batter as I do, you can pour it into the pan easily!

The Charlie Tablecloth

We set the foundation for the entire outdoor look in our catalogue with our Charlie Tablecloth. I love this check pattern, and I’d put it on anything —  I use it in my home, I wear it, and it blends well with everything. The bottom has this cool contrast stitch detail, and its hand is heavy and just feels really nice

The Odette Melamine Plates

I have the Odette Melanie Plates at my house, and I love them because they are kid-friendly, but they look really cute, so I don’t mind having them out.

The James Bar Cart

Because the James Bar Cart is made out of Poly Wicker and has these wheels on the bottom, it’s durable and functional but also cute enough that you could leave it out even when you’re not entertaining.

The Sage Striped Beach Towel

I’m so excited because we added beach towels to our McGee & Co. collection this year, but we couldn’t just do any beach towels. These are so plush and soft that I’m going to trade out all my other towels for them. They have this really cute tassel detail with a little knot edge and are the perfect size for fitting on poolside loungers or wrapping up in after a surf session.
