The Seattle Remodel Part One: Entry, Kitchen & Great Room

A long time in the making

As designers, it's always our intention to create something that stands the test of time and brings lasting beauty. When working with clients, we consider and prioritize the longevity of each decision, and our "Seattle Remodel" is an expression of that idea.

We began working on this remodel almost four years ago, and it's so rewarding to see it complete after such a long time in the making! However, what is even more rewarding is that we still love it just as much as we did when we started and that today, we get to share it with you!

First, we'll cover the entry, kitchen, and great room. Keep scrolling to tour and shop this project, and be sure to come back tomorrow for the rest!

The natural material mix of the Ava Counter Stool not only elevates its design but adds casual approachability. The hand-woven seagrass back is bent into shape and fitted with a sandblasted teak frame. An upholstered, beach colored crypton fabric seat and brass footrest complete its design.

  1. LOVE this! can you please let us know what the color of the paint is on the walls, trim and cabinets?! Absolutely stunning!

  2. I am so glad to have a new project to drool over! Thank you for sharing this Seattle project, SM team! I particularly love the hardware on the built-ins, the railing on the 2nd floor (I have railings on my mind), and the beautifully bright and airy styled shelves. XOXO

  3. Oh my gosh this is the exact furniture color scheme I have been debating over for our living room refresh! Thank you for reinforcing I am not crazy to mix so many different colors/material.

  4. This is all so good! I looked at McGee and Co for the conversion chart hanging in the kitchen. I can’t find it. Where is it from?

  5. This is stunning! Love too much to list. That exterior transformation is unreal. Are you willing to share the flooring source/details??

Getting ready to start a big remodel on a colonial farmhouse in Portland OR. Will go back to this over and over for inspiration ❤️ And can’t wait to shop your store for all the accessories and furniture! Thank you for sharing!

  6. We are starting our custom build, I love so many elements you have here, windows, flooring, stone fireplace! Can you source all these?

  7. Question about the drawers on the back of the island.. are they faux? Do the top ones flip up? Curious how to access items in the top drawer under the bar overhang. Looks gorgeous! Just curious ?

  8. Love the fireplace brick. Am wanting to lighten up the old brick fireplace in my living room but want to keep the variations in color. Am wondering if you redid the brick in your stunning Seattle reno and, if so, would you mind sharing the process? Love your gorgeous designs!

  9. Amazing! Are there built-ins on the left side of the fireplace? I am looking to do something similar and because of a doorway, would only be able to do it on one side. Thank you!

  10. So glad I found you (through Chris Loves Julia)! I have to ask how you did the walk-in pantry??? It looked like that was an exterior wall. Please do share! ?

  11. Gorgeous! Love the fireplace. Can you please share the process used for including type of brick and paint color? Than you!!

  12. Hi! Wondering if you can share the source on the kitchen cabinet pulls/knobs? Thanks so much. Beautiful work as always!

  13. Can you show construction stages of shelving on sides of fireplace – ? I would love to replicate this look and you have mastered it ( several times over)!

  14. Hi,

Love the great room, it is gorgeous. Can you share the source of the black caged pendant, I do not see it in the McGee.com store. Thanks
