Modern Entryway & A Moody Wet Bar

Defining lines and modern silhouettes galore

We’re so excited to finally show you part one of the photo tours from our Rye, NY project!

Filled with monochromatic tones, transitional silhouettes, and tall, defining windows, this modern, waterfront home is one of our new favorites.

Our client’s love for black and white led the direction for the entire home. We began by reworking some of the more traditional elements to fit their modern taste.

In the entryway, we took out the banister, replaced it with glass and wood panels that go all the way up, and added a really cool stair runner for some contrast.

The kitchen is open on both sides and shares a wall with a more formal living room. Our client wanted a wet bar there, so we made the entire wall this really cool dark, black color and added an industrial faucet and interesting hardware.

"When approaching modern projects, I always have the desire to soften things just a little bit. We did this by incorporating a lot of curved furniture that helped make the home feel more welcoming."

- Shea McGee

Because the layout of this house has so many living room spaces, it was important for us to differentiate each space with furnishings. In this area, we did four chairs in a circle to create a cozy but unique setting.
