Two female-founded brands, Studio McGee and Tuckernuck, come together for a limited-edition summer collection. Here, we chat with the Tuckernuck team about friendship, fashion, and building a business with heart.

We’re thrilled to debut our first-ever clothing collaboration—a sun-washed, summer-ready line created in partnership with the team at Tuckernuck. This limited-edition capsule marks a special moment for both of our brands: two female-founded companies coming together to blend fashion and interiors in a way that feels natural, nostalgic, and effortlessly stylish. Designed for everyday elegance and inspired by coastal California living, this collection brings together timeless silhouettes, breezy fabrics, and thoughtful details that reflect both of our aesthetics. To celebrate the launch, we sat down with the Tuckernuck team—Jocelyn Gailliot, Madeline Grayson, and September Votta—to talk about their journey as founders, what it's like building a business with close friends, and why they came to us to collaborate.

Tell us about the beginning days of Tuckernuck. How did you handle the failures? How did you celebrate the successes?

Tuckernuck

We see any roadblocks as more motivation to succeed. Failure is bound to happen but keep the faith and remember it’s about the journey. And don’t be afraid to ask questions or for help when it’s needed.

We just celebrated our ten-year anniversary, not too far behind Tuckernuck. Can you share some thoughts on getting this far into the business?

Tuckernuck

It's a roller coaster! There are highs and lows, but the constants are our core values and mission—curate for our customer's lifestyle, make shopping easy, and always find the fun.

Like Shea working alongside her husband, friends (and family) going into business together can be tricky. What do the three of you do to make sure your relationships outside of work stay intact?

Tuckernuck

Get inspired together! Explore different neighborhoods, travel abroad, flip through old magazines and books. Constantly sharing our findings and ideas with each other is the best way to stay inspired and fuel our creativity. And it’s exactly what we love doing everyday with our customers, too—being their life hack and sharing what we consider the best. And again, we remind ourselves it’s supposed to be fun and not to take ourselves too seriously!

Tuckernuck is a female-founded company, just like Studio McGee. Can you share what that means to you and some of the challenges that come with it?

Tuckernuck

Working alongside an incredible team of women has allowed us to take our shared experiences and make the best impact on and build a community with our customers. Our lifestyle is our customer’s lifestyle. We started this in our 20s when our friends were getting married, moving, having kids...we now have 11, soon to be a dozen, kids between the three of us. We’ve been through it all together and are still living it!

Tell us about the core aesthetic of Tuckernuck and the ways in which it aligns with Studio McGee’s aesthetic.

Tuckernuck

Our aesthetic is aspirational yet attainable for an active, on-the-go lifestyle. Every piece we create is classic, versatile, and easy to wear, with special details that set it apart. For this capsule collection, we bonded with Shea over our favorite summer activities—from family boat rides to ice cream runs, beach days, and outdoor dinner parties—and designed what we'd wear to each. As busy working moms, we wanted effortless pieces that look current and put-together but also feel good for days in the sun.

Why were you interested in partnering with Studio McGee and Shea? And what does it mean to you to be the brand’s first fashion collaboration?

Tuckernuck

Shea embodies the Tuckernuck woman and lifestyle. She’s an entrepreneur, a mother, and someone who we’re constantly inspired by. We’ve been big fans of hers for a while and it was an honor to work with her and bring this vision to life. We’re thrilled to be Studio McGee’s first fashion collaboration. To us, it’s a natural partnership since fashion and interiors go hand-in-hand—they’re both an extension of one’s style and personality.
