It’s no secret that the holidays feel a bit different this season, and as we get closer to the end of the year, we’re thinking about how we can create celebratory moments in a new light.
Amongst the typical chaos of December, it’s not always easy to find time to wrap gifts thoughtfully, but this year, we’re excited to put more intention into one of our favorite traditions: the art of gift wrapping.
Today, we’re sharing a few of our favorite sources and tips for all things wrapping.
Here’s how we’re creating beautiful gifts this year:
Step No. 1: Start with choosing a color palette
Displaying your gifts is a simple way to integrate festive patterns and tones into your home, and choosing wrapping materials that blend with your home decor helps to creates a seamless look.
Start by looking around your space, finding a hue or material that you want to accent, and building from there.

Step No. 2: Gather your tools
Although wrapping can be an artistic process, it’s important to remember the practical things, too. The last thing you want is to lay everything out and realize that you’re out of tape or tissue paper.
Before you start adding the pretty things to your cart, make sure you have all the necessities. With more online shopping than ever happening this year, it’s easy to forget your boxes, and depending on what you’re wrapping, we may even suggest considering forgoing the box altogether! Displaying your gift in a pretty wooden crate, basket, or bin can be even more beautiful, and possibly even more useful to your receiver.

Step No. 4: Add your ribbon
If there were rules of wrapping, one might be: “Never underestimate the power of a good ribbon”. A beautiful ribbon can elevate any gift, and it can be a fun way to add a hint of color, too!
We love buying had-died ribbon from Honey Silk Co., Silk & Willow, but we’ve added a few more options below!

Step No. 5: Add the finishing touches
Adding a tie-on to your gift makes it feel all the more thoughtful, and we love using a pretty card, a small ornament, a fresh sprig of pine, or even dried citrus or florals.
