Two festive mantel looks we love

The mantel is one of the most versatile surfaces to style for the holidays…

and with so many different ways to curate a festive look, finding inspiration is a great place to start. We’ve created two different looks to share our favorite methods for styling a seasonal mantel this season, and we’re breaking them down in this post.

Look No. 1: Classic + warm festive mantel

This look offers a new take on the timeless red and green holiday color palette with deep berry-hued stockings, silver and gold decor accents, asymmetrical dimensions, and classic patterns. A checked rug sets the scene for cozy gatherings by the fire with two boucle chairs and layered textiles.

A festive bell garland brings visual balance to the asymmetrical faux greenery in this look, adding contrast to deep red stockings on both sides.

On top of the mantel, vintage-inspired artwork and mixed decorative trees pull the look into focus and add an element of texture. We love incorporating a variety of staggered heights to create interest when styling decorative accents like trees, especially on a flat surface like the mantel!

We love embellishing our stockings with ornaments or other accessories to add a new element of personality. The gold bells on the singular stocking brought the perfect finishing touch to this look.

Timeless + dimensional decor

A classic color and material palette bring this mantel look to life.

Look No. 2: Minimal + cozy holiday mantel

We toned down the color palette for our second look to create a more streamlined feeling and allow our favorite rust-colored fringe ottomans to shine. Gold accents, soft textures, and feminine additions set the scene for this pretty yet sophisticated setup.

We opted for faux garlands draping evenly on both sides of the mantel for this look and added a metallic gold “Merry Christmas” banner to center the accessories and bring in personality.

White decorative trees on both sides of the mantel blend into this fireplace’s stunning white-veined marble while adding some height dimension against two tapered candles. We chose vertical artwork depicting a dreamy snowy scene to pull the look together and bring in even more dimension.

Cozy textural stockings on one side of the mantel add in a timeless holiday feeling and are complete by one draped silk bow for an added pretty element.
