Mountainside Retreat: The Upstairs Guest Bed + Bath

Details from the next space in our latest project.

Walking down a hallway of windows…

you see repeated pendants and get a view of our guest bedroom suite in our Mountainside Retreat

Designed with Lloyd Architects and Jackson and Leroy on the architecture and build, this home was created to feel like a peaceful retreat. Our clients love to entertain and have guests, so they wanted the bedrooms to feel like they didn’t have a specific person tied to them.

In creating this space, we wanted it to feel transitional in style but still elevated enough to flow with the rest of the home.

The material palette…

of this bedroom is set off by a relaxed linen bed and contrasted with a pair of wooden nightstands. The subtly patterned rug grounds the space, adding warmth and texture to the look.

On the ceiling…

wooden beams add interest to the walls painted in one of our favorite paint colors, Swiss Coffee by Benjamin Moore at 75% strength. A streamlined chandelier draws the eye up and centers the space.

A minimal bedding look…

brings a calming feeling to the space with a crisp white duvet, a terracotta pillow, and a creamy tan lumbar that ties in with the throw draped over the edge. One of our favorite details in this space is the funky chair in the corner. It adds so much personality and creates a little reading nook for our client’s guests.

The adjoining bathroom…

is set off with a neutral textural wallpaper, a warm grey vanity, and black countertops. Two sconces frame a rectangle mirror, bringing shape and interest to the space.

Styled with…

our favorite towels, baskets for storage and pretty countertop accessories to complete the look, this bath space strikes the perfect balance between calming and interesting.
