No. 1: Design a space that will grow with your little one.

Sadly, babies don’t stay babies forever, so it’s important to design with elements you can build upon as they get older. Invest in pieces like wallpaper, paint, rugs, and furniture. Then layer in playful moments through textiles, artwork, and décor pieces you can update easily.

No. 2: Create zones.

Nurseries consist of three essential zones — a spot for sleep, feeding, and changing. Make sure these spots work together in a room and don’t forget that a comfy chair for late-night feedings is a must-have!

No. 3: Add Ambient Lighting.

Good lighting is important in every room, but even more so in a nursery. Build layers of light with floor and table lamps, so you don’t need to turn on overwhelmingly bright overheads. Bonus if they are dimmable!

No. 4: Play with Pattern.

Incorporating patterns is a great way to add playfulness and dimension, even with a neutral palette! Don’t be afraid to mix and match patterns to make an impact.
