For Studio McGee’s first international design project, our team paired up with Chris Brandon of California-based Brandon Architects to design the architecture of the sprawling, 22,852 square feet estate on the shores of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. “We are thrilled to present our latest international project,” Chris said. “Inspired by the timeless allure of Spanish design and the breathtaking ocean vistas surrounding, our team embarked on a journey to craft a harmonious family retreat that embodies the spirit of coastal living. It has been an honor to collaborate with such wonderful clients whose unwavering trust and appreciation for design allowed us to bring this vision to life. The true beauty of this home lies within its seamless integration of indoor and outdoor living spaces, inviting immediate connection to the natural wonders that unfold from every angle of this stunning property. We are thankful to have had the opportunity to collaborate alongside Studio McGee, whose impeccable interior design choices have elevated this space to new heights. For the extensive build of Cabo Dos Vistas, Studio McGee and Brandon Architects paired up with Cabo San Lucas-based Cabo Development Group. The home was three years in the making and presented a unique challenge to our team as the first international project in our portfolio. “The wood species used in Mexico are a bit different than what we are used to,” Shea and the design team pointed out, “so we had to look at a lot of wood samples to pick the right one or one that would pair with others. We weren’t prepared for the names that we’re familiar with to not be represented outside of the U.S.” Keep your eye out here in the coming weeks as we explore other building materials used throughout Cabo Dos Vistas, like plaster, limestone, and terracotta.
