A Warm & Textural Kitchen Look

Breaking down one of our favorite looks from this season.

14 December 2021 -

The kitchen is the center of gathering, and even more so this time of year…

as we settle in and welcome our favorite baking, entertaining, and hosting traditions, we’re considering how to make each element in our kitchen spaces more intentional.

In our latest catalogue with McGee & Co., we styled the kitchen space with some of our favorite pieces that encourage settling in and staying awhile amidst this busy time of year.

The pieces

Our process for adding styled pieces starts with taking inspiration from the finishes in a kitchen space. In this home, the kitchen is filled with warm, character-driven details like warm oak cabinetry, unlacquered brass hardware, and beautiful contrasting black and white marble countertops.

We chose pieces from our latest McGee & Co. collection that would highlight each detail, from the rounded woven Hadden Counter-stools to the grey and gold Scarlett Pendants.

The Pembroke Hand-Knotted rug grounds the space, adding warmth and a subtle pattern to soften the angular lines of the kitchen.

“The Pembroke Hand-Knotted Rug is a best seller for a reason. It is an instant classic. With its vintage-inspired design and soft hues that add an extra layer of comfort.”

- Shea McGee

“We hung our Scarlet pendants above the islands in this new neutral colorway. I have these pendants in my own kitchen and love the scale and angular shape.”

The details

The accessories in this space bring it to life and add personality with a mix of vintage and new styled pieces. A large wooden bowl on the island is ready to be filled with seasonal fruit or hold kitchen linens, and styled serveware and decor on the open-shelving brings form and function to tie everything together.

A small lamp brings a lived-in feeling to the kitchen space and allows for cozier lighting at the end of the day, styled next to a sculptural potted tree and stacked coffee table books.
