This year, we're all about making our homes feel refreshed with pieces that are pretty, but still functional — especially when it comes to styling the kitchen.
Maybe it's a textural cutting board displayed on your countertop that can be later filled with treats, or a statement-making pepper mill styled in a built-in that can also elevate a weeknight dinner setting.
Regardless, we've officially given up the idea of saving our serveware for occasions. Here are five of our favorite essentials that make even the mundane feel special:
-
Pretty Serveware
Speaking of serveware, there’s no simpler way to dress up your entertaining scene (even if it's a party of two).

Styling tip: Elevate the everyday inside or out with beautiful serveware to share dishes in new ways. Think outside of the bowl and try displaying a salad on a breadboard for a slow night in.

3. Canisters
We use canisters in nearly all of our kitchen projects because they are so versatile, and can be easily switched out from season- to-season with ingredients, treats, ingredients, or even left empty.

"Sharing meals comes with an opportunity to gather together in the heart of the home and celebrate the little moments. Lately, I've been focusing on presentation as a way to bring art to the table to make even the simplest everyday dishes meaningful." - Shea McGee

5. Simple Centerpieces
Sometimes the right pretty yet functional pieces make just as pretty of a focal point as a floral arrangement. Lately, we’re of the mind that a centerpiece can be anything from a bowl filled with produce to a tray for transporting serveware.

This is so true! My partner and I were deep in covid blues a few months ago, and we started using linen napkins we usually keep tucked away for the holidays. Just using our "good stuff" on an everyday basis makes us feel better and more thankful for what we’ve got!
