SM Ranch House: The Living Room

A big, cozy, rustic living space!

We’re back with our Ranch House!

Our clients wanted a classic, cozy, mountain lake house. Keep your eye out for rustic warm woods, iron, moody blue, and lots of texture.

We showed you the first webisode, and toured the dining and living spaces. Today we show you the living room! You’ll spot the moody blue in the pillows, but we kept everything else neutral. There’s natural materials like the marble and iron in the coffee table, and the warm leather chairs. The beautiful floral arrangement really ties everything together.

This hand-knotted rug has the softest texture, with brown, cream, and gray. The fireplace coordinates with the stone on the exterior, and we decided on white built-ins to keep things bright.

When you walk in, the first thing you see are the exposed trusses with a really cool steel cable detail. It’s the finishing touch for a rustic, cozy space.

We stained the windows and doors a custom brown color that ties in with the floors.

We used vintage accessories and textiles. We found a cool antique console that we placed behind the sofa to really set the tone. We added baskets for function and form, of course!

There is another designer out of South Carolina who bundles her choices for projects she has done into packages that she sells for a fee (something like this room she charges $500). I would pay for that info. Let us know if you do this! I don’t blame you for not sharing, putting that together is a valued skill.
