Our Store Got a Refresh!

Our store got a refresh! Take a virtual tour.

21 February 2019 -

Remember our storefront in Costa Mesa?

You can get caught up by touring the reveal, and watching the webisode. The store is near Newport Beach. It’s a really cool neighborhood with places to get tacos, donuts, and surfboards after you stock up on some home decor.

Last week we rearranged the store a bit, bringing in new pieces of furniture and decor. We have to keep the space fresh for your instagram pictures, right? Only kidding a little. (P.S— we love when you guys visit the shop! Be sure to tag @mcgeeandco, and #mcgeeandco when you visit so we can show you some love!)

Shea wishes she could greet everyone at the door, but a dutch door topped with a pretty wreath and a doormat (designed in-house) do the trick!

Millbrook Furniture built the most beautiful custom bar cart. We wish we had room to fill the store with every single product on our website, but this certainly helps. This Fruit Sketch just went up above it, and we’re loving the bright California vibes it has.

The kitchenette was built with a  white carrara slab from Bedrosians, with a subtle veining that makes a statement without taking away from the product we want to showcase! We completed the look with a farmhouse sink and faucet from Kohler. The store is filled with brass details (looking at you, Boston Single Arm Sconce), so we went with a polished nickel finish on the faucet. The cabinet color is “Raccoon Fur” by Benjamin Moore!

There’s no way we’d skimp on a good gallery wall, even if it’s in the corner of our store! Our exclusive Cosette Chair hosts various pillows from our SM pillows to our vintage and designer pillows. We complimented the dark walls with this cool, dark side table. Its circular texture feels so natural.

Our cash wrap is one of the most photographed spots in our store, and we totally get why. It used to be a tiny office that was hidden behind a beautiful barn door, but we needed all the space we could get! We use a chic 24″ Cabinet Maker’s Light to highlight our sign. The countertops are By Jeff Allen from Bearhorn Design. Another element we love is the wall-mounted butcher paper holder. We had our Eugene Pendants in our old office, and we had to have them here too.

We carry jewelry and greeting cards in our store exclusively!

This corner has all the natural light, so we use it to showcase vintage rugs, pillows, and one of our favorite sideboards. We filled a balon vase with fresh stems and filled our two-toned trays with candles and plant misters. Our dark Issa Jar stands out beautifully against all the light objects displayed. We love the natural warmth of our large displayed wood object and frames. The rug is vintage!

We had to choose a table that was substantial enough to host an array of products! The Kinsley Table is simple and perfect. We brought lighter tones with the Luna Bench and Jasper Chair.
