Why We Love Painted Vertical wood Paneling

See why we can't get enough vertical paneling!

Vertical paneling is one of the easiest ways to heighten your walls and create openness in a smaller space. It's a detail that will also create dimension and visual interest to your walls. Painting your paneling really takes your design up a level, and makes the space feel more modern and clean. Check out our favorite examples!

  1. I love these, and appreciate the variety you included. I love the look and would love to incorporate it into my son’s very small bedroom. For a small space, would it be best used on just one wall?

  2. I took inspiration from the 7th photo from the bottom for our guest room, and installed MDF vertically. I love how it turned out. (you can check it out, if you are interested on instagram @justmakemess)

  3. Here in Brazil we always use ceramic tiles from top to bottom in bathrooms, wood panels are not common…but I like soo much, it’s really beautiful and cozy! I’ll save the inspirations to use on my bedroom wall, loved the black one ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. I love the look of the vertical paneling! We have 9′ ceilings, does thIs material come in 4×8 sheets, or other options? Not crazy about seams:(

  5. We just purchased a home with a den featuring that 1970s wood paneling halfway up the wall. If there is white wainscoting elsewhere in the house (itโ€™s a 1925 Dutch Colonial), can we modernize the den by painting the wood paneling a color? I am LOVING the black…

    Thanks for the amazing inspiration!

    1. You definitely can! We painted our 70โ€™s wood paneling a beautiful gray 10 years ago – before either were trendy – because it really has a classic look!
