Mudrooms are one of our favorite spaces to design when we get the chance.
Originally commonly found in farmhouses in the 19th century, mudrooms functioned as backrooms in-between the outside world and the home for farmers to remove their muddy clothes. Today, the mudrooms we design look and function a little bit differently. Though they are not necessary for every home, in areas with wet or muddy climates, having a space to enter, hose off your boots, and store your things is the ultimate luxury.
Designing a mudroom is all about merging beauty with utility. If you’re looking to build, remodel, or refresh a mudroom area, finding some inspiration can be the perfect place to start.
