10 Things We’re Crushing On Right Now

Roses are red, violets are blue, here’s a few things we hope you love too!

Happy Valentines Day! Regardless of whether or not you’re a fan of the holiday, it’s always good to have an excuse to spend extra time with the ones you love and eat all the treats.

Our team has been celebrating by decorating boxes in the office, writing each other notes, and indulging in a little more sugar than usual. Earlier this week, we asked our followers what they love most about their homes, and we’re still thinking about all the positive comments and messages we got. If you missed it, you can read the conversation here.

Today, we’re highlighting ten of our favorite things right now. Bonus: all of these items are now on sale for Presidents Day! You can shop everything on McGee & Co at 20% off from now until Monday. So if you don’t have a Valentine this year, why not treat yourself? Here are ten things our team is totally crushing on:

We love trays for their functionality, and use them in nearly every space. They are a perfect drop space on consoles, coffee tables, or even dressers, and are great for corraling all the little things that seem to pile up. This wrapped leather tray is one of our favorites for its texture and interesting detailing that brings an elevated touch to any space it’s placed. We love styling it with a glass of flowers and candle, or on its own beside a lamp or painting with some contrasting height.

This console table was blogger Christine Andrew’s top pick when we did her recent two-day transformation, and it was the perfect statement piece for her entryway. We’ve used this piece in multiple projects and multiple styles of homes over the years, and it never fails us. It’s light, and airy column design is transitional enough to blend well in both modern and traditional spaces, while it’s flip-top opening gives it extra functionality.

Almost every time we use the Jessica Chair in a project, we get asked if it’s vintage. Made of solid oak, aged leather, a black steel frame, and brass accents, it checks all the boxes for a piece that feels timeless and modern at the same time. Bonus: it comes in a counter stool and barstool too! See it in action in this dining room from our recent Rye, NY project.

We recently used this piece in a streamlined, modern boys room, but it could work in a master just as well. The Nyles Nightstand is inspired by a classic, ’30s machine-age aesthetic, adding an Art Moderne touch to any space. With aged leather, rounded edges, and metal finishes, it makes a textural statement in any room.

Not only is the fawn velvet one of our favorite fabrics at the moment (we just used in it the McGee home,) but the brass caster details and shapely silhouette elevate it even further, making it the perfect statement piece. To learn more about how this sofa was made, you can read our Q&A with our director of product here.

You know we love a good coffee table book, and one of our latest in the McGee & Co. shop is no exception. With a combination of old Hollywood and modern sensibility, Kelly Wearstler puts some of her most beautiful projects on display in Evocative Style. This book profiles her latest residential and commercial designs. Bonus: it’s the perfect addition to an open shelf, console, or of course, the coffee table.

We can’t say enough good things about the Emory Extension Dining Table. Crafted from solid white oak, it brings both form and function to your dining space from its architectural base to the natural extending leaf. Plus, its sturdy, high-quality construction stands the test of time.

The possibilities are endless with this storage caddy. Our team was drawn to the concept for its capability to house table salt or napkins for gatherings, but we found ourselves using it for everything from holding spices to countertop decor. Circular white iron handles accent its reclaimed wood form for a beautiful juxtaposition of materials that will never go out of style.

Even after styling homes for years, sometimes we’re still surprised by how much a throw can add to a space. Whether it’s a sofa or a chair in the corner, throws are the perfect secret weapon for creating that lived-in, cozy look we’re always aiming for. We love this one in particular, for its simplicity and texture. Made from 100% cotton, it looks like an heirloom and feels like heaven.

This vintage-inspired, antique wood pedestal is one of our favorite decor pieces for it’s simple, rustic aesthetic and unexpected functionality. We love using pedestals for adding height to a vase of flowers, a pretty soap dispenser, or for placing regularly used kitchen items like olive oil and salt and pepper.
